School Administrator

Thorngrove School is currently looking for a School Administrator to work in the school office. The job will initially be part-time; around 25 hours per week. However, there is the potential for this to expand to a full-time position in due course. Good interpersonal and organisational skills are essential. An accountancy or book keeping background is desirable but not essential. A confident, engaging, warm and hardworking, professional manner is key to this role, as is the ability to work well under pressure. A good understanding of independent education is also highly desirable. Knowledge of data management systems and accounts packages would also be useful. The job would involve working closely with the Headmaster and Proprietor on a day to day basis.

School Secretary

The role of School Secretary becomes available due to a general increase in work load and a member of the office team going part-time. Previous experience as a school secretary is desirable as well as a strong knowledge of management information systems (e.g. SchoolBase). Good interpersonal and organisational skills are essential. A confident, engaging, warm and hardworking, professional manner is key to this role, as is the ability to work well under pressure. A good understanding of independent education is also highly desirable. This role could increase to full-time in due course.

Year 2 Teacher

One of our Year 2 teachers is moving abroad with her family and as a result a teaching position becomes available at the school.  The Lower School is a vibrant place to teach and work.  There is a strong positive vibe and all the teachers and assistants work together in a collaborative way.

It is an exciting time for the Lower School and we have just appointed a new Head of Lower School, Mrs Victoria McSorland.  Many classes are full and we have recently expanded Year 2 due to a demand for places.  The other Year 2 teacher, Mrs Davies, has recently moved from our Nursery class where she was covering a maternity leave and has bags of experience; prior to this she was a Deputy in the state sector.

Teaching Assistant

We are looking for an energetic, positive and hard-working teaching assistant to join our Lower School.   The post is a permanent and full-time.  The Lower School is a vibrant place to teach and work.  There is a strong positive vibe and all the teachers and assistants work together in a collaborative way.

Catering Assistant

The school is looking for a catering assistant to work in the kitchens under the guidance of our Catering Manager, Neil Laing.  The successful applicant will be adaptable, hard working and flexible.  A sense of humour is essential.  

  • 10.00am-2.30pm Monday-Friday (plus additional overtime)
  • the ability to work as part of a team is essential
  • knowledge and experience of working in a busy kitchen would be beneficial
