Lower School

These formative years are critical in every child’s development.  You can trust us to give your children the best possible start.

In the Lower School (ages 4+ to 7) we aim to provide your child with a happy and stimulating environment.  Initially, in Form 1, children cover a wide range of topics linked to the Early Years Foundation Curriculum.  In Forms 2 and 3 teaching will cover Literacy, Numeracy, Topic Work, French, Art and Design, Music, Drama, Physical Education and Games.  In support of early literacy we use Read Write Inc. which is a systematic phonics programme.  This is introduced to children in Form 1 and is carried through to the end of the Lower School.  We know that children at this stage absorb knowledge very readily and need to be kept motivated by fresh and stimulating teaching and resources.  The children are given opportunities to explore the extensive grounds and use facilities like the Sports Hall, Art room, and Astroturf.
